AIZAT
 

Born on 21st January 1989 in Kuala Lumpur, Aizat Amdan or better known as AIZAT, is the fifth child out of a family of six.

In November 2007, his passion in singing had encouraged him to attend an audition for a reality programme, AKADEMI FANTASIA 5, which was a national talent search competition held by the TV channel ASTRO RIA which saw him being shortlisted and started his singing debut.

He seriously took the reins of his career in 2007, when he decided to produce his singles Sahabat and Hanya Kau Yang Mampu in the same year which became hits and were in the top 10 of local charts. Since then, there was no turning back for Aizat and he produced and published his first full album in June the following year. For his efforts in the album, he received several accolades from several esteemed music industry’s organizations.

Aizat’s First 2 Singles - SAHABAT and HANYA KAU YANG MAMPU
He released his first two singles Sahabat in June 2007 and Hanya Kau Yang Mampu in November the same year. Hanya Kau Yang Mampu was an instant hit and was the Number One song in almost all the radio and TV music charts in Malaysia for several weeks.

First Full Album – PERCUBAAN PERTAMA
Aizat is not only a performer but made a name for himself as a singer-songwriter as well. On 24th June 2008, Aizat launched his first full album featuring seven tracks, five of which were composed and written by Aizat with his brother Anas. The album named Percubaan Pertama’ was well received by the public. The album was 100% produced by Kasi Gegar Entertainment Sdn. Bhd, a company in which Aizat is a shareholder/director.

“Hanya Kau Yang Mampu” broke all records in terms of airplay and downloads and has given him the recognition as being the leading local solo artiste in terms of volume of downloads in the form of Caller Ringtones. With digital downloads of more than 1.5 million by the songs in his first album Percubaan Pertama in 2008/09, this is considered as one of Aizat's greatest achievements. For this achievement, he received an award for The Most Downloaded Song in Malaysia in 2008 at the 16th Anugerah Planet Musik 2009 held in Jakarta.
 

In accordance with the standards under the Sales Award Certification from RIM ( Recording Industry Malaysia), his physical album, Aizat – Percubaan Pertama achieved GOLD status in 2009.

Soundtracks for the movie Talentime-2009

Aizat also recorded two English numbers by Malaysian singer/songwriter Pete Teoh for the movie soundtrack ‘Talentime’, a movie about the multi racial lifetsyles of Malaysians, about understanding the different religions and cultures and inter-racial love relationships and marriages. The movie was produced and directed by the renowned and talented Malaysian movie director, the late Yasmin Ahmad.

Repackaging of Percubaan Pertama with Video Karaoke Album – June 2009

His album Percubaan Pertama was repacked to include another hit single, Kau Aku and the two songs from Talentime but in the Bahasa Malaysia version, titled Pergi and Itulah Dirimu. A full video karaoke album of Percubaan Pertama was also produced to satisfy the calls of his fans for the karaoke version of all his songs.

Aizat’s 2nd Album – URUSAN AIZAT AMDAN

URUSAN AIZAT AMDAN (UA2) is the first full album which is 100% produced by Aizat and published by his label, Kasi Gegar Entertainment Sdn Bhd and where all the songs are composed, arranged and the lyrics written by Aizat with his brother Anas. This is considered as Aizat’s dream come true achievement and sets the pace for Aizat to move independently in his music career.

Major Achievements

23rd Annual TV3 Music Award 2008/09 – 19 January 2009

Further to his achievements in producing his own album ‘Percubaan Pertama’, Aizat was listed as one of the finalist for Anugerah Juara Lagu in year 2008/09 with his own composed song titled ‘Lagu Kita’. The song composed, written and sung by Aizat was selected to be among 14 finalist songs in this prestigious Malaysian Music Award. Although his composition did not win, at 19 years of age, he was acclaimed as the youngest Malaysian composer to ever reach the finals of the event.

The Berita Harian Most Popular Artist 2008

For the first time, Aizat was among the five finalist nominees
for the Most Popular Male Artist Award in the above event.

16th Anugerah Industri Musik – February 2009

Aizat was nominated in 3 categories, Best Album, Best Song and Best Vocal in a Song ( Male). His career excellence was proven then when he won the Best Vocal in a Song ( Male) Award.

18th Discovery International Pop Music Festival in Varna, Bulgaria – May 2009

He was selected to represent Malaysia in the above international competition. Not limited to Malaysia only, his works received the event’s recognition when Aizat won the Special Jury Award and 2nd runner up in the Best Song category at the 18th World Pop Music Festival for the song Lagu Kita.
 

16th Anugerah Planet Musik 2009 – Jakarta, Indonesia – July 2009

Aizat won the Best Vocal Performance In A Song By A New Male Artiste and the award for Malaysia’s Most Popular Song based on the highest download - Hanya Kau Yang Mampu (Aizat). The finalist in this category include Afgan , Dirly, Lobow and Nubhan. Aizat also performed at the event.

Anugerah Juara Lagu ke 24 - 2009

Aizat received the highest award at the Anugerah Juara Lagu 24 for the song Pergi composed by Pete Teoh and lyrics by Amran Omar.

In addition he also won the award for Best Performance through the song Kau Aku composed and written by him.

Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian 2009

Aizat bagged the Most Popular Male Singer Award at the above event.

Tokoh Muda Negara – Malaysia Day 2011

Aizat Amdan was chosen as a ‘tokoh muda’during the 54th Malaysia Day celebration. Aizat was selected based on his achievements in the local music industry. Among others chosen were Datuk Ahmad Nawab ( prominent veteran song writer ), Datuk Lim Chong Wei ( World’s No.1 badminton player), etc.
 

Major Concerts

Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza’s SATU Concert

In July 2009, Aizat was invited by Dato’ Siti and her husband Dato Khalid Jiwa to perform the opening act for Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza’s SATU Concert at the prestigious Istana Budaya.

Konsert Satu Suara

Aizat performed with Dato Siti Nurhaliza and Faizal Tahir in the above joint concert at the prestigious Istana Budaya in February 2010. The concert received raving reviews and was recorded as a successful and commendable effort by Istana Budaya to open its doors to young talents.

Konsert Melodi Cinta Rossa

Aizat was the Malaysian artist invited to perform at Rossa’s Melodi Cinta concert, her first solo concert at the Bukit Jalil Putra Stadium in Kuala Lumpur sometime in May 2010. The concert was held to an audience of 10,000 people and the concert’s patron was the wife of Malaysia’s Prime Minister Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor.

Konsert Penghargaan P. Ramlee Di Mana Kan Ku Cari Ganti

Aizat was among several top Malaysian artists who performed at the Konsert Penghargaan P. Ramlee Di Mana Kan Ku Cari Ganti at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) auditorium in October 2010.

The event was jointly organised by AETN All Asia Networks and Astro in collaboration with DBKL. It was held as part of Astro’s month-long campaign celebrating the work of the late icon, and also as a prelude to the premiere of the original production P. Ramlee on the channel History on 31 October 2010.
 

AIZAT’s 1st SOLO CONCERT

Aizat’ first solo concert was a huge success and was held to a capacity crowd of almost 800 pax despite the maximum ticket capacity of 700. The concert tickets were sold out a month ahead of the concert. Apart from being the prelude to his Solo Nation Concert Tour, this solo concert serves as the testimony to the quality of the contents of the intended concert tour in terms of the audio, lighting, staging and performance which received fantastic reviews from the media.

BORNEO TOUR – JULY 2011

From the success of Aizat’s first solo concert ‘URUSAN AIZAT AMDAN – LIVE IN DAMANSARA’ held at the Bentley Music Auditorium in Mutiara Damansara, Aizat kept true to his promise to bring the concert nationwide .
Aizat’s Nation tour commenced with the BORNEO TOUR beginning with Sarawak and Sabah in the month of July 2011.
The concerts in firstly Kuching then Kota Kinabalu were known as Aizat’s Borneo Tour Urusan Aizat Amdan Live in Kuching and Live in Kota Kinabalu respectively. The concerts in both venues received overwhelming support.
